The classic Inca Trail 4 days is one of the best-known hikes in Peru because of its authenticity since it has the original Inca trail that used to start from Cusco, the capital of the Inca state, with direction to the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu following the ancient paved road you can appreciate many Inca sites, terraces, temples where they did their respective studies related to agriculture and astronomy also we can appreciate valleys, mountains where you can observe the biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Classic Inca trail 4 days Itinerary
DAY ONE CUZCO KILÓMETRO 82 TO AYAPATA.
Classic Inca trail 4 days start at 4:30 AM will drive approx. for three hours to kilometer 82 we will stop for breakfast at Ollantaytambo from here we have 45 more minutes to kilometer 82 then we will approach our first Inca trail 4 days checkpoint where you have to show your original passport if you booked as a student your ISC CARD the first two hours will be following the Urubamba river and it is relatively easy as we make our way to first Inca site call Patallacta this is one of the largest sites along the Inca trail this was a checkpoint for the approach to Machu Picchu. From this amazing Inca site, we have two more hours to go to our first lunch stop. After lunch is another 2 hours of hike until our first campsite this last section will be uphill and will pass by a village of Wayllabamaba in where you will have options to buy any energy drinks, water, or any items that you need, then continue to our campsite Ayapata in where we will spend our first night.

SECOND DAY AYAPATA – CHAQUICCOCHA!
This is considered the hardest day with beautiful views! Of our classic Inca trail, We will start early our hike. We will hike roughly for four hours in order to get to the highest point of our trek, dead women’s pass (4215 meters 13828 ft.) ones you are at the pass our super porters will be waiting for the group in order to offer hot tea after you enjoy your tea you will have some time to enjoy the view and get some photos and then we hike down for one hour and a half to Pacaymayo in where we will have our lunch After lunch we have another four more hours of hike to the camping site (Chaqui Ccocha) on the way up we have one Inca site called as (Runku Raccay) and on the way down we have another Inca site (Sayacmarca) them camp!.

Campsite elevation: 3,600 meters

THIRD DAY CHAQUICCOCHA – WIÑAYWAYNA!
We will hike only until lunch, as we hike will be able to see the majesty of Salkantay Mountain the second highest snow-capped mountain, and a fantastic panoramic view of Vilcabamba mountain range as well we will see Veronica glacial along our trek to Phuyupatamarca (3600 meters) from where we’ll have majestic views overlooking the Urubamba valley and best view of the Andes mountains in the distance. From here we’ll have our first view of Machu Picchu Mountain the citadel is in the backside of the mountain. From Phuyupatamarka it is three hours down the stairs on the way we will see three Inca sites (Phuyupatamarka, Intipata, and Wiñay Wayna) of course you’ll have time to visit those places because we are going to camp at wiñay Wayna also lunch stop.
After lunch, we will visit a beautiful Inca site Wiñawayna it’s only ten minutes away from the camp so don’t miss you will have time to explore then you have to go back to the camp enjoy dinner with our team. After our delicious dinner, we will say goodbye to our porters, it is an Inca trail tradition to show our appreciation for their hard job.

FOURTH DAY WIÑAY WAYNA – MACHUPICCHU!
Waking up early in the morning you’ll head straight to the checkpoint where we have to wait until they open the gate, the door is open at 5:30 am then you will head to the sun gate from where you will have the first view of Machu Picchu after you enjoy the view you will hike down to Machu Picchu will take another 45 minutes once you arrive at Machu Picchu here you will take postcard picture then you will go out of Machu Picchu in order to organize and use the toilet once you are ready you will explore the citadel for two hours with your tour guide after the tour you will have your free time in order to explore more if you have permits to hike either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain. Your guide will give you your bus tickets to go down to Machu Picchu Pueblo as well will offer you a meeting point in a restaurant to enjoy your last lunch in a local restaurant, of course, this is optional.
In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our bus driver will be waiting for you with the Cusco Explore logo and take you back to Cuzco.
